Regarding MJ (#23 that is), I really can't go as far as lame or bad, or any of that. Him flying out the former teammate to use as a prop for his narrative was lame and too self centered. Thus, I feel he can do lame things, but to put a stamp of 'LAME' on his forehead, or 'ASS' or anything in that family, feels too strong and too damning.

Yeah, that is pretty weird. I think I came in from a different angle as well because I was prepped and braced for a negative speech, so nothing was going to throw me. I think it made it easier for me to feel where he was coming from. (Not easier...as much as me not getting sidetracked with a 'what the fuck?') Anyways, I still stand with how I feel regarding Jordan, but certainly that is an example of him sliding into the ME ME ME bullshit and losing sight of the importance of others. Point well taken.

Speaking of ME ME ME. Did you watch the MTV Music Awards? They actually had some really good moments. Shocking. But the show started off with Queen ME who in her MIchael Jackson tribute spoke more about herself than Michael. It was pretty ridiculous.

the more I thought about, the more I don't like MJ the person. Who flies in a high school teammate just to make the point the coach picked the wrong guy for the team? Weird and vindictive. What made him so competitive also makes him lame.

Hard to say. We don't much about Jordan other than what he did on a basketball court. I certainly don't think he is a bad person. And he very well may be a great person. I don't know. Nothing I have seen or heard about makes me think that he sucks or anything. Infidelity. Sure. Not ok. But it doesn't sound like he was a womanizer. Hell, Bill Cosby cheated on his wife and America is in love with the Coz. I think MJ is an unbelievable athlete and winner. As for outstanding character...I would guess that he does pretty well overall, considering. Not in the leagues of an Ali mind you, but nothing has made me wretch. My take...

Just finished watching the women's finals and cool and all to see Clijsters win. I was actually pulling for Wozniascki following her win over Oudin, but it was probably better to see Clijsters win.
What's always seemed odd or outdated to me regarding women's tennis, is why do they play less matches than the men? It's not a strength thing like golf courses. No pink tees to hit from here. It's insinuating that they don't have the same stamina or something. Also, don't see women starting at the 6 mile mark for marathons or something. It may have to do with time constraints with having both men and women playing in the tournament, but logically it feels off.
