Friday Night Lights (Observations)

I have been blind or dulled down or something, but three things just jumped off the screen watching the show tonight.

1) Tyra is a frickin wookie. Abnormally tall. It’s weird. We’re midway through Season Two right now and I’ve never noticed her height before. I looked up the actress’ bio and its no illusion. She’s taller than I am. How did I miss that?

2) The daughter Julie (coach’s daughter) has enormous breasts. She’s only 18 so I will not go into great detail out of respect for coach, but, Jesus. How did I not see that? She’s young so perhaps they’ve come along.

3) Tyra’s mother. I am excellent with faces. Even with disfiguring heavy make-up, passing of decades, or whatever, I can pick out a face almost instantly. Usually without fail. But it took me til tongiht. She’s Gail Stanwyck (Alan Stanwyck’s additional wife from Fletch).

-And for good measure, I believe Tackleberry made an appearance tonight in the strip club scene.

What are we all about? Who knows? Who cares? It’s too soon to say. We are a slow brewing stew and have just set the proper heat under the stove. We have yet to add bits of carrot and celery and whatever Brazilian bullshit my counterpart would add to a stew. It will take time. Care, whimsy, procrastination, will all be added. Wrong ingredients will surely be added as well, but it is all ok. It’s a process. We will figure it all out in time and hopefully serve up something nourishing and if all goes right, delicious. In the meantime, let’s agree not to worry about, About.

yeah, i remember noticing that chewies mom was in fletch a little ways back. i think right at the end of last season when i happen to catch fletch on cable…
also, i just watched the kingdom with jamie foxx (not bad, not amazing either) and coach is killed in the first ten minutes and the cripples first girlfriend has a little cameo as well. oddly enough, one of the chicks from jericho (i know, you never ended up watching it) had a brief spot as well.
and yes coachs daughter does a have, er, large tracks of land. but, i didnt realize that she was 18 yet, i thought she was still younger…
