Gran Torino -Movie Review

I saw this movie over the past weekend up in Tahoe, and finally getting around to commenting on it. So here you go…

Over-rated completely. The movie was mildly entertaining (I wasn’t bored), but shit script, awful dialogue and horriffic acting (minus Clint Eastwood of course. Without him the movie would have been a total disaster.) It’s funny, the actor that played “Toad” was so bad that I actually thought a few of his lines were being dubbed. I’m not kidding.

Anyways, feel free to disagree. Apparently everyone besides myself loves this movie. So don’t feel bad if you already bought your Gran Torino bedsheets and lunch boxes. You are safely in the majority.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head with mildly entertaining, frankly I couldn’t care less about character development, all I know is whether I was looking at my watch waiting for a movie to end, I think I looked at my watch once or twice during this one. Agreed on the kids lines, some of them were bad.

I don’t really care on character development either. Bad acting and bad lines grate on me.

What are we all about? Who knows? Who cares? It’s too soon to say. We are a slow brewing stew and have just set the proper heat under the stove. We have yet to add bits of carrot and celery and whatever Brazilian bullshit my counterpart would add to a stew. It will take time. Care, whimsy, procrastination, will all be added. Wrong ingredients will surely be added as well, but it is all ok. It’s a process. We will figure it all out in time and hopefully serve up something nourishing and if all goes right, delicious. In the meantime, let’s agree not to worry about, About.
