It worked for 1 month... maybe 3 weeks and now its like the law had never existed.

It pisses me off... even more so after I don't own a car anymore..

BTW, I have seen cops talking on cell phones since then...

Last, the reason it was banned was to keep drivers' attention on the road. The act of holding the phone in your hand was not the issue, the usage of the brain to complete the task was... they assumed that by banning the cell phones they would free up the driver' mind...

Now they have to add clauses to the law... text messaging, sexting, using GPS devices, etc, etc...

Impressive, Kate. I wouldn't think it would be possible for it to work from that far away. I may give it a try.
I actually just talk on the damn phone, but when I see a cop, I either drop it, or pretend its an electric razor and mime shaving my face. I'm sure I'm fooling nobody, but I figure I may get the cop with a sense of humor who would let me off for creatiivity.

Personally, I put it on speaker on my lap and scream to the person I am talking to. Highly effective and completely hands free. Can be difficult to hear if wind factor is high. But otherwise I feel strongly that I am following the law.

I think the police officers are too busy talking on their own phones to ticket people for the offense. It's a damn good law, but we're all too addicted to the convenience of it. Myself included.

Do you know anyone who has been ticketed? At the same time I see tons of people still using their phone while driving. A stupid, unenforced law.
