A funny side note….in one of the quarterfinals, there was a ‘Lance Berkhart’ move when one of the competitors yanked the leash of the other causing him to fall on the last wave. Was pretty funny because it wasn’t intentional but all the announcers were crying, “Berkhart!”

Ehhh… Taj wins. Zero waves for the final. Slater’s final score was 7.10. Every other heat of his was over 17.5.

It’s all because of the webcasts. I never followed it through magazines or anything, but once I started watching the contests I totally got absorbed in them. Also seeing them in person hooked me. You feel like you get to know these guys and then that adds the drama. I swear if you followed it as well for a few contests you’d get sucked in too. That’s why I even share it on here because i think you guys would totally get into it.

Which website? I’m going to try and check some of this out over break if there is anything going on. By the way I finished finals last week. The diadactic portion of school is over and I’ll be in an OB/GYN office in Berkeley for 5 weeks then somewhere doing pediatrics for 5 weeks after that. Pretty nervous.

What are we all about? Who knows? Who cares? It’s too soon to say. We are a slow brewing stew and have just set the proper heat under the stove. We have yet to add bits of carrot and celery and whatever Brazilian bullshit my counterpart would add to a stew. It will take time. Care, whimsy, procrastination, will all be added. Wrong ingredients will surely be added as well, but it is all ok. It’s a process. We will figure it all out in time and hopefully serve up something nourishing and if all goes right, delicious.
