Movie Review: Hancock

Watched it last weekend and I will be honest.

The trailer looked pretty good/funny. I went ahead and google’d it and found some very interesting information about the movie. The script has been around for quite some time. Many people have rejected it and in its final iteration they managed to pull everything together: cast, director, name.

The movie revolves around a drunken super hero played by Will Smith. He is basically a washed out idiot that causes more destruction than actual good.

With the help of a PR man, they decide that he (Hancock) should lay low in order for people to realize that he is indeed needed in society. Of course with his incarceration the city explodes in violence, which is to be expected. The movie follows a very predictable route until some twists give it a pretty interesting edge.

I can’t let you know what they are without spoiling it.

Overall I give it a B-

I like the easy entertainment aspect of the moves but it gets pretty boring until the twists. Don’t expect earth-shattering revelations though ;-)
