Can you imagine the fall out of the nation if she stepped in under such circumstances? Circumstances where the nation would largely be shattered (to whatever degree). Riots would be breaking out (to whatever degree). And the person healing these wounds, attempting to heal these wounds, would be the white woman who based her campaign on bashing this guy, tarnishing his message, saying he's unqualified, unfit, where she alluded to race and her strength w/ white voters, etc. And there she would be sitting in power. The backlash would be ridiculous. The backlash would be volatile. And you may scoff at the assassination thing and think I'm overdoing it a bit. I hope I am. But again, assassination is a largely foreign concept for the 30's and unders to grasp. We haven't lived through one. But to rehash recent American history. JKF, assassinated. Martin Luther King Jr, assassinated (killed?), Malcolm X, (same). RFK, assassinated. Ford shot at twice. Reagan shot and survived. George Bush Sr, plots but no carry outs. George W. Bush...unbelievably, (sadly?) no. There has been a calm since, but hopefully not before a storm. Barack would be our first black president. Overreacting or not, that is a much larger bullseye. I don't know if I mentioned it before but there was an article in Newsweek or whatnot that reported on Barack's campaign who in campaigning for votes, regularly dealt w/ racist harassment from enlightened inbred assholes who'd mutter out such phrases as, "we should hang that nigger in a tree". So there you go. Think what you may, but.....eh. There are things to think about. And hell there are things to worry about to whatever degree. And further….since I picked my own scab…
