Tyson -Movie Review

When I’m happy and popping again, it will start showing in my writing. This is what we call a lull.

With that out of the way. Saw this movie a week or so ago and thought it to be quality. Always fun seeing old footage of Mike knocking everyone’s head off. Dude was so electric, I used to nearly hyperventilate before watching each fight. I’m not kidding. And of course by the time he fought Buster he was already long gone mentally and emotionally.

What I found suprising and refreshing about this documentary is that Mike was very well spoken (for Mike). No random senseless sentences strewn together. He showed a lot of sensitivity, a lot of rawness, and I really expected far less from him. I thought it may be depressing given the circus show he became, but it wasn’t despite not being a happy ending.

Definitely worth watching.

What are we all about? Who knows? Who cares? It’s too soon to say. We are a slow brewing stew and have just set the proper heat under the stove. We have yet to add bits of carrot and celery and whatever Brazilian bullshit my counterpart would add to a stew. It will take time. Care, whimsy, procrastination, will all be added. Embarrassingly I saw him interviewed on Oprah today. Captivating stuff. I am vacillating between thinking he was a monster and thinking he was a victim of fame and venal acquaintances. Definitely want to see the documentary.

I have a lot of sympathy for this guy. He is just an incredibly sensitve and vulnerable person, but certainly screwed up and capable of doing bad things. But all the bad things seem to come from his inability to deal with his hurt and all. A person almost too sensitive for this world.

Watch the movie. I ordered it on Direct TV and i think you have that as well. I think he is a fascinating case study. Sort of like a MIchael Jackson sensitivity wise but took his explosive art to boxing…and self destructed in a different way.

So the real question circling around Ted and the Oprah issue is was he alone? If he was by himself and sought out Oprah that is one thing, if he was sitting there with Leah she had the remote in her hand and he was playing with Daniel, that is quite another set of circumstances. Which one was it?

To address Tyson in a more light hearted manner how funny was the part with him and the Tiger in The Hangover?

Elliptical AND Oprah. My God, that sounds really nice Leah…I mean TW. Never saw The Hangover. Heard mixed reviews. Would watch it though.

Serious? You never saw The Hangover? I know Tee Double You may be above such debauchery but it was hilarious, how the hell did you miss that one, get your ass over to one of those red video things at McDonalds or Safeway and watch it.
